The Implicit Bias session is relevant to student leaders’ roles and learning because student leaderswill play an important part in the upcoming Spring 2021 Student Leader Selection process. It is important to discuss implicit biases because they are unavoidable –everyone inevitably carries implicit biases. However, one must recognize the implicit biases they hold in order to lessen their impact on others –in this case, during the Student Leader Selection process. Student leaders must be able to define and identify the implicit bias(es) they hold in order to have an equitable, inclusive hiring process during the Spring 2021 Student Leader Selection process.
